January Results and February Plans

I was moderately successful with my January plans:

Kaleidoscope:  DONE!!!  It's 90 x 90 and I quilted it myself on my DSM, so it was not an insignificant accomplishment.

Rail fence quilt:  Didn't do this, but made a different donation quilt as a result of the DOQ workshop and also finished off a quilt someone else had begun.  So the spirit of this item was met.

Starburst:  Instead of making 16 blocks, I have all the parts made for the 25 blocks I will need for this quilt.  I wanted the mixture of scraps to be throughout each of the blocks.

15 minutes a day:  This does NOT work well for me.  I will switch to 2 hours per week so I don't have to stop just as I'm getting in the groove.

February's goals:

1.  Piece the top of my piano quilt.
2.  Sandwich and quilt 1/3 - 1/2 of the autumn 8's quilt.  Another large one to be done on the DSM, so this will take quite a bit of time.
3.  Finish a donation quilt - try again for rail fence.
4.  Make 2 teapot blocks from Angie Padilla's BOM from last year.  This will be done using machine applique - a new experience for me.

Hope to:

Get caught up on  Come on a My House.

Tuesday, January 1, 2013

Robin came over for our annual New Years Day sit and sew.  It started out many years ago as a day to do an online mystery quilt together.  Now we just work on our own projects.  Anyhow, I'm so happy because I have finished ALL of my pieces to make the 16 blocks for Starburst.  And its only the first day of the month.

I've switched my 15 minutes a day project to Come On-A My House. Although I have lots of 1.5" strips cut, they aren't for Carolina Crossroads.  I'll have to look carefully through Bonnie's blog and figure out which mystery I cut all these for.

A busy but productive day.
