2011 start
Robin and Evelyn came to sew with me yesterday. We sure had fun!! It all started several years ago when Robin and I were both doing the same New Year's Day mystery and decided to work together on it. And we've continued the sewing tradition, though not necessarily a mystery quilt, every year since. I got my personal challenge UFO for January put together. Fortunately, my most time consuming UFO was not the one chosen to be completed this month, as i have a lot of other stuff to do. Stay tuned and see what I actually get done!! On the exercise front, I've been doing well with both my steps (10,000 per day) and stairs (500 each way per day). And I've gone back to doing Bodies in Motion when I'm up early enough. Will do something else - wii, elliptical, bike - on days I'm not up by 6:00 or so. At least 4 days a week.

Monday's accomplishments
Well, I got all my UFO's organized so when Judy draws her number, I can easily find what I need to work on. I also got some of the piecing done for the tree skirt Fred wanted for the showroom. It's too busy , though so I need to go today and get a calming fabric to use. Trip to TP. I'm sure I can find something there.
Fred is leaving work early so we can go look for a new leather coat for him. Maybe I can find one for me as well. We're going to the new Tanger outlet mall in Mebane. Think its a little pricey for my taste, but we shall see. I see a Zaxby's dinner tonight!!!

I had forgotten that I started this blog so long ago. Found it when looking at sites to use for a blog. Judy Laquidara has prompted me to do this so I can fully participate in her UFO challenge for 2011. So here we go!!!

Having this published online like this really makes it kind of official, doesn't it?
Another online group is doing what they call a bucket list. Its a list of techniques to try or practice and one will be drawn each month. The one for January will be diamonds/y seams. Think I will practice it by doing a couple of LeMoyne Star blocks. Or else a small tumbling blocks quilt.

Don't have a lot to write about. We have finally finished getting the tiles down in the kitchen. Fred is ordering the wood for the rest of the floors today, so by this time next month we should be looking pretty spiffy. I guess that means its time to start the slip cover for the sofa. It may be time to take a couple of half days off from work. Especially if Chris comes for Labor Day week-end. It will be wonderful to see him, but I won't be spending the week-end sewing. I MUST get some time in tonight - before I have withdrawal.
Will also figure out how to post pictures.

Well I have gotten a digital camera and figured out hot to post to other on-line sources, so now maybe this will be next.
I spent most of the week-end dealing with the new kitchen floor. It looks nice and will be worth it once its finished, whcih probably is another couple of weeks away. We could have it finished enough for hardwoods to be installed by tomorrow if we tried, so the main pressure is off. Of course, they are at least a week from installing. We haven't ordered yet, and it will need to acclimate for several days before it can be installed. We need to get the kitchen pulled back together so we have room for everything else that will need to be moved. LOTS of fun there.
As a result of all the floor stuff, I haven't done much quilting lately. Hopefully by Wed. I can get some done at least between the time I get home and before Fred gets home. Don't know how much work we will plan on doing in the evening. Depends in part on how hot it gets.
Sent in my request for Memorial Hall concerts for this year. We'll see how things work out this year. I don't know whether she will actually assign concerts or not.
